Expertise
“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health.”
— Hippocrates
Internal Medicine
Dr. Bajpai specializes in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases that affect adults. In residency training at UCLA, she cared for patients with many rare and complicated diseases, enabling her to have a broad range of clinical experience. She has been a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine since 2003.
Personalized Nutrition
Dr. Bajpai is fellowship trained in Clinical Nutrition, passing the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists Exam in 2004. She performs a thorough medical and nutrition health history to create a specific plan just for you. Her advice is not a generic one-size-fits-all approach, but rather personalized recommendations tailored to each individual patient.
Lifestyle Management of Disease
Many illnesses can be managed successfully without the need for pharmacologic agents. Lifestyle therapy, especially if initiated in the early stages, can treat a range of diseases from diabetes to high blood pressure, from high cholesterol to insomnia, and more. Dr. Bajpai prescribes specific interventions in the areas of diet, physical activity, behavior, and cognition to treat disease and promote health. However, if medications are indicated, Dr. Bajpai does not hesitate to recommend them.

Philosophy
“It is more important to know
what sort of person has a disease
than to know what sort of disease a person has”
-Hippocrates
My approach is to see you not only as a unique individual, but to also understand how your environment - job, family, living situation, diet, physical activity, etc.- affects your health.
With a detailed review of your medical history I will formulate a treatment plan and focus on the factors which most influence your state of health or disease. This process includes a review of your physical exam data, past medical and surgical history, family, history, allergies, medications, laboratory results, imaging studies, and clinic notes from other physicians. I also incorporate areas of integrative, holistic and functional medicine in my plan.
My 20 years of clinical experience in academic medical centers, county hospitals, community hospitals, nutrition and weight loss clinics, private practice internal medicine and concierge medicine has given me the wisdom to design a personalized and effective treatment plan for each patient.
I strive for proactive care, not reactive measures. For those already diagnosed, that means making sure your diseases are managed appropriately with our goal being optimum care. For those who are currently well, or “not sick at the moment,” we focus on maintaining excellent health and preventing disease.
